The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has faced a significant cybersecurity challenge, falling victim to a ransomware attack that has severely disrupted its data center operations. This incident has impacted the university’s online database and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, leading to a halt in critical services such as course registration, fee challan generation, attendance tracking, and grading transcript management. Despite concerted efforts to restore these services, the university community continues to face difficulties nearly a month after the attack.
